Wednesday Lunch Live!

Nostalgia Magazine presents Wednesday Lunch Live, seasonal lunch shows with live entertainment at the Spokane Valley Event Center, catered by Red Rock Catering. Free on-site parking is available in abundance, and the Spokane Valley Event Center is fully accessible, without stairs.

April 3, 2019: Celtic band, Floating Crowbar!

Floating Crowbar kicks off the 2019 season of Wednesday Lunch Live with their authentic blend of Celtic styles.

“Multi instrumentalists Don Thomsen and James Hunter have joined forces with guitarist Rick Rubin and fiddler Morgan Andersen in the configuration known as Floating Crowbar, fast becoming known as the best traditional Irish band in the area. With the use of Irish pipes, flute, whistle, banjo and mandolin as well as fiddle and guitar, Floating Crowbar plays a high energy mix of Irish instrumental music and songs drawn from traditional and contemporary sources. Coming from a wide variety of backgrounds and musical interests, they bring together their common passion for Irish music, good humor, mutual respect and friendship into a show that will be enjoyed by any Celtic music fan.”

May 1, 2019: Encore performance! A Tribute to the Andrews Sisters, with Olivia Brownlee, Pamela Brownlee, and Leslie Ann Grove

Olivia, Pamela, and Leslie Ann return for an encore celebration of three-part harmony reminiscent of the Andrews Sisters on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at the Spokane Valley Event Center for Wednesday Lunch Live! Their show in 2018 was one of our most attended, and they’re coming back with new material for 2019.

June 5, 2019: A Special Presentation of Abbey Crawford’s Cabaret!

Abbey Crawford and Carolyn Jess will treat us to an exclusive performance of cabaret as it was meant to be performed on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at the Spokane Valley Event Center for Wednesday Lunch Live! Abbey is the only “Yale-trained Cabaret singer” in the Pacific Northwest, and she has been delighting crowds with her special blend of storytelling and powerful vocals so much that she was named Spokane’s best singer two years in a row by Spokane CDA Living Magazine.

July 10, 2019: Hot Club of Spokane!

Hot Club of Spokane returns to Wednesday Lunch Live on July 10 with a high energy performance of pre-war swing, hot jazz, and blues, and of course, plenty of history of Bing Crosby, Mildred Bailey, and Al Rinker. Hot Club of Spokane is working on all new material for 2019, and recording all spring long!
